What is this for?
The citizen certificate contains identifying data and lets its holder identify themselves online and electronically sign supported forms and documents.
When can it be useful?
- Identifying yourself on supported Spanish government websites.
- Signing official forms and submitting supported online procedures.
- Consulting records, notifications, municipal services, fines or grant procedures where accepted.
Where do I arrange it?
- Start the request through the official FNMT website.
- Accredit identity at an authorized office, or use a supported electronic identification route.
- Use the official FNMT office locator and confirm whether the selected office requires an appointment.
What may I need first?
- For foreign applicants, the identity documents currently accepted by FNMT, normally including NIE evidence and a passport or accepted identity document.
- Access to the device, user account and browser used for the request when that route requires the same environment for download.
- A personal email address for the request code.

- The FNMT request code received by email.
- Original, valid identity documents accepted for your nationality and situation.
- Appointment confirmation if the selected accreditation office requires one.
